Xobni: Taking Back the Inbox
I recently came across a startup called Xobni that and found it quite interesting. Xobni, inbox spelled backwards, is an Outlook plug-in that radically changes to the way people interact with their email. Xobni is currently in beta, but if you put a link to their website in your blog or email five friends and trick them into registering, the company promises to give you a spot on their betalist. The two coolest features that Xobni has to offer is its ability to thread emails between you and your contacts and provide email analytics. Approaching email with a more social network mindset is a great way to filter the inbox by assigning emails value. We all know that inboxs are notorious for being a task that is dauntingly hopeless but required (similar to taking out the garbage and doing laundry). IST students are especially be prone to this kind of problem due to the nature of their work. Hopefully with the help of Xobni, you can slay the email dragon.

Xobni is co-founded by a PSU alum btw. Xoopit is a similar product but is more relevant for us with Gmail because we really don’t use Outlook while in college.
