Bring Startup Weekend to State College, PA

Rob Shedd at the Lion Launch Pad notified me about the chance of Startup Weekend coming to State College, PA. Apparently, we just need at least 80 people to vote for State College, PA on the Startup Weekend website to be considered.

With the help of locally recruited developers, graphic designers, marketing experts, and entrepreneurs, Startup Weekend is a 54 hour event with the goal of producing a killer application within that time frame. Some more information from the About page:

Founded in 2007 by Andrew Hyde, the weekend is a concept of a conference focusing on learning by creating. It is known for its quick decisions, ‘out of the box’ thinking, unique facilitation technique and letting the founders show what they can do. The program has already met with success in Boulder, Toronto, New York, Hamburg, Houston, West Lafayette, Boston, DC and more.

Startup Weekend would be an exciting opportunity for motivated IST students to get involved in an hands-on entrepreneurial event. Vote for State College, PA now.

  1. Startup Weekend is nice program. I know a guy who contributed to the Atlanta event that produced Skribit earlier this year. PSU kids, please vote for State College even if you don’t want to attend.

VOSNAP is another cool program that resulted from a Startup Weekend in Colorado. It helps you come to a group consensus in a snap! Bringing Startup Weekend to Penn State would be so awesome. Come on, voters!
