Many student have been wondering what the new IST job posting site will be since the College phased out ISTechTrak.

According to an email sent out by Madhavi Kari, Interim Director of Career Solutions, ISTechTrak became obsolete because MonsterTRAK no longer supported the software, although the details are beyond my understanding. If you have more insight into this, please do share.

More about the new Compass interface will be posted when it is released to the students. For now, you can admire the login prompt at the oddly designed Compass website. I’m having a tough time deciding whether this banner is amazngly cool or just out of place for a job posting site…

Attention Juniors!!!

We are very excited to introduce Compass, the new IST Job Posting System, that has replaced ISTechTRAK. Compass (powered by Symplicity/NACElink) is a new system that has easy to use features and has streamlined many of the recruiting processes. Penn State Career Services uses Nittany Lion Recruiting, which is also powered by Symplicity/NACElink and it may be familiar to you.

Another reason we decided to make the switch to a new job posting system was because MonsterTRAK was no longer supporting the software that we called ISTechTRAK. We had to make the switch and after looking into various job posting software, we decided to go with Compass. It offered many new features that we hope will make your job search and interview scheduling easier and more efficient.

We hope that you all will be patient during this transition and help us by asking us questions, and provide any feedback that may be helpful to make this transition easier for all of us.

Next week(TBD), you will be receiving an email from Compass (careers@ist.psu.edu). Because this is a system generated email, it may fall into your Junk mail. Please check to make sure you do not miss it! This email will contain your new username and password to login to the new system. Please follow the steps in the Student User Guide to update your profile and upload your most recent resume. After your resume is uploaded, Career Solutions will review and approve/deny your resume, this process will take 48-72 hours. Please plan accordingly.

In addition, we are very pleased to announce our new Internship Program Coordinator, Lauren Wazontek. Lauren started with us this past July and is gearing up for the fall semester! We are very lucky to have Lauren join the team! Please stop by, introduce yourselves and welcome her to the College of IST!
